Haunted Mansion at Disney World is Closed for Routine Refurbishment Until August 9th. Climb aboard a gloomy Doom Buggy for a grave journey through a labyrinth of haunted chambers.

What will we find at the end of the Endless Hallway when The Haunted Mansion reopens on August 9th? Will we see the long-awaited Hatbox Ghost materialize? Without speculating, let us be logical.

Haunted Mansion is probably under refurbishment to get ready for the Hatbox Ghost to finally come to the Disney World version of the famous ride. This is more than likely the “Let’s get everything in place, so we can start testing” phase. Below you can read what Disney Parks Blog had to say about the future of Hatbox Ghost coming.

Later this year at the Walt Disney World Resort, one of our most iconic specters will set up residence in the Haunted Mansion of Liberty Square in Magic Kingdom Park. The Hatbox Ghost will appear to guests as they pass the Endless Hallway, welcoming himself inside from the swinging wake in the cemetery and grinning at the Doom Buggies as they set off deeper into the mansion. Guests will soon see temporary barriers materialize as we await his apparition.

Before Entering the Mansion

A musical crypt, a leaky tomb and a ghostly writer are among the creepy haunts you’ll find outside the main entrance. Explore supernatural hands-on experiences—only at Walt Disney World Resort—while you await your fate inside.

Too Scary?

The Haunted Mansion is dark and contains some mildly frightening scenes, but there is no gore, the ghostly residents are friendly and the ride is slow-moving.
