Tropical Storm Idalia Intensifies as Florida Gov. Declares State of Emergency Ahead of Landfall. Tropical Storm Idalia is organizing and has developed in the Caribbean Sea, near the Yucatan Peninsula. Idalia is forecast to strengthen early this week as it moves northward through the Gulf of Mexico.

It is expected to make landfall in Florida as a hurricane with heavy rain, storm surge flooding, and high winds midweek.

Right now Walt Disney World, Universal, and the Central Florida region are in the southern portion of the projected map. This does not mean we will not get anything and are clear.

Furthermore, we would be on the eastern and southern edge of Hurricane Idalia if the route were to hold up. Which would mean heavy rains and high winds with the potential for flooding in the Disney World Parks area.
