Disney and Pixar’s Carl’s Date Now Streaming on Disney +. Catch up with Carl as he reluctantly agrees to go on a date with a lady friend—but admittedly has no idea how dating works these days. Ever the helpful friend, Dug steps in to calm Carl’s pre-date jitters and offer some tried-and-true tips for making friends—if you’re a dog.
Originally scheduled to hit Disney + last February, delayed a few months, Carl’s Date was a short played prior to Elemental in theaters. I have to admit I was very concerned about Carl going on a date! What about Ellie? What about my heart not being able to move on from a relationship that could be described as one of the most perfect relationships ever on the big screen? How could Carl do this? Importantly, how could Pixar and the writers and directors do this to all of us?
Why am I now having the “Well, What would you do if anything were to ever happen to me?” conversation with my wife? Why is it that most females I talk to say “I want you to be happy, you have my full permission to continue to live a happy life even if that means you find someone else” and most men are in the “NOPE!” camp? Thanks, Carl! Thanks, Pixar and Disney for making me have these conversations.
Isn’t that what is most important when watching entertainment and isn’t this what Disney does best? We see a reflection of ourselves in these movies and shorts, and what makes it amazing is it is digital animation we are debating. I digress.
Carl’s Date is now available on Disney + to stream.
