Disney 100 and Mickey Mouse Statue Removed from Epcot. Plus walls have been shifted as new pathways are being installed.

We got over to Epcot yesterday to check on the preparations for the Festival of Arts 2024 which starts Friday. While seeing all the artist tents, chalk drawings, and seeing Mirabel from Encanto doing a meet and greet, we also saw that the Disney 100, Mickey statue, and furthermore, all the D100 medallions have been removed from Epcot.

Construction continues in World Celebration at CommuniCore Hall and Festival Plaza, which means ever-moving go-away green walls. The pathway between the Imagination pavilion and the Creation Shop, on the World Showcase Bridge side of World Celebration has been moved back and it is now closed.

The walls now stretch all the way to the new garden area Disney had built to hold the Disney 100 Platinum medallion. Plus the large D100 sign with the Mickey Mouse platinum statue has been removed, along with all the d100 medallions from around the park.

Previously Disney had released information about the Disney 100 Years of Wonder at Epcot “You’ll be able to snap a photo with a new platinum Mickey Mouse sculpture in World Celebration with Spaceship Earth in the background. And don’t forget about the dazzling Disney100 Magic Shots and PhotoPass offerings currently available across Walt Disney World.”

This area is only expected to be closed for a few weeks. I am going to make a stretch here and say by the time Epcot’s Flower and Garden Festival starts, this whole area should be open. For now, though, expect this to be closed off during the Festival of the Arts.

Festival of the Arts 2024

Art lovers, rejoice! A new year is right around the corner, and a visit to the 2024 EPCOT International Festival of the Arts is the perfect way to celebrate bright beginnings.

From Jan. 12 through Feb. 19, revel in this inspiring event that highlights the visual, culinary, and performing arts as only Disney can. It’s a feast for the senses and one of my favorite Disney events as my family and I take in incredible performances, pose for Insta-worthy photos, and indulge in delectable bites and sips.

The area by the now closed off area will be home to:

Kids Chalk Art
