Perfect Friday at Disney’s Magic Kingdom – Mama Odie Juju, Frontierland Railroad Entrance/Exit Changes, Parade Time Changes.
We had one of those Magical days at Magic Kingdom yesterday. You know the kind where everything just works in your favor. The weather was perfect, with no humidity, the sun was high in the sky with no clouds.
The Walt Disney World Railroad was waiting for us to board with no line, there were light crowds, no one bumped into us, no screaming kids, and we ran into Bears in Frontierland. Furthermore, we got out from Country Bear Jamboree, and the Cavalcade was just arriving, and we found a perfect spot.
We got to check out some enhancements to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, walk down the newly refurbished stairs at Frontierland Railroad Station, and catch the Adventure Friends Cavalcade at its new time. Also, on our way out we spotted some new merchandise and got the new Sweethearts Popcorn at Main Street Confectionary.
Let’s start at the beginning and bring you up to date on the happenings at the Magic Kindom at Disney World:

The good and bad news at Frontierland Railroad Station is the stairs leading up to the train platform are demolished on the handicapped ramp side, which was our entrance for the past year, since its reopening. Which closes off the bathrooms in the back area, and now we cannot walk along the new queue.
That means there is a new stair entrance that was just completed and refurbished on the opposite side. For those who may ask, yes the handicapped ramp is still accessible.
All Aboard!
Listen to the clamor of the engine, the chug of the wheels and the call of the whistle aboard the Walt Disney World Railroad.
Ride 1 of 4 meticulously restored, vintage narrow-gauge steam trains—originally built between 1916 and 1928—and enjoy a relaxing 20-minute, 1.5-mile scenic round-trip tour.
It’s a convenient—and nostalgic—way to get around Magic Kingdom park!!
The Southern Dome Salt Company has undergone a major transformation over the past year. It has been almost exactly 1-year since Splash Mountain was closed, and work is moving along faster than anyone expected.
Not trying to be dramatic, or start rumors, but I feel like we may see Tiana’s Bayou Adventure open sooner than late 2024. Much sooner in fact. Think Summer 2024. Recently, Disney allowed the first reporter to walk through the attraction and brought back a few tidbits.
The animatronics will be the new high-tech versions we just saw appear at Hong Kong Disney with the opening of the new Frozen Land.
On the top of the newly refurbished dome, you can see the beautiful flowers now surrounding the whole top, and where the boats come out of the dome, you can now see Mama Odie’s Juju bottles. One of the things discussed in the previously mentioned article is:
One element not being held over from the old Splash Mountain is the tree trunk that once crowned the attraction. It has already been removed to make room for whatever awaits guests just before their plummet.

“We needed some real estate there to fit the added show magic,” Robledo said.
Just before the old ride’s “Laughin’ Place” scene, Robledo stops. The tour ends there.
“Kind of from this point on is the surprise,” he said, a twinkle in his eye.
Pressed for details, he responded: “I’ll just say it’s got a lot to do with magic. It’s a magical moment that happens down there.”
Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade is now running two times daily. At 10:30 AM and 11:45 AM. This moves the Festival of Fantasy Parade to only 1 show a day and that is at 3:00 PM.
We got to check it out 2x in 1 showing. With crowds light it is easy to watch in Frontierland, and then run over to the bridge in Liberty Square or Main Street USA for another pass.
