Doctor Who’s Millie Gibson To Exit Show After One Series. Millie Gibson, who is portraying the super fun Ruby Sunday is leaving Doctor Who. The show is being helmed again by Russell T. Davies as writer and showrunner.

We were introduced to Ruby Sunday in the Christmas Special. This was the first full episode of Ncuti Gatwa’s 15th Doctor. In this episode, he meets Ruby Sunday. We do know that she will be the companion for this series of the show, which is set to return to BBC and Disney+ in May 2024.
Millie Gibson is known for her previous role in the British soap opera, Coronation Street. Ms. Gibson is young and we see a promising future. At this time, it is rumored that she was let go from the show but we do not know the circumstances around her exit. Ncuti Gatwa seemingly will miss her. He posted a shot of them in costume on his Instagram stories claiming his love for her with a heart emoji.
What we do know is that her replacement for the next series is Star Wars star Varada Sethu. The 15th series is in production in Wales with Varada Sethu as the new companion. She has previously starred in Andor as Cinta Kaz. She was also featured in Jurassic World Dominion.
