Where To Watch Every 2024 Best Picture Nominated Film. If you are like me, you like to watch all the nominated films before the Oscar Ceremonies. I thought that I would present all the films and where you can watch them.
The 96th Academy Awards will take place on March 10, 2024, with Host Jimmy Kimmel. The ceremony will take place at 7pmEST/4pmPST, which is one hour earlier than usual.

Starting off with Oppenheimer. You can rent that on most streaming services for $5.99. It’s available on Amazon, Vudu, Youtube, or purchase on BluRay, etc. Oppenheimer is set during World War II. Lt. Gen. Leslie Groves Jr. appoints physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer to work on the top-secret Manhattan Project. Oppenheimer and a team of scientists spend years developing and designing the atomic bomb. This culminates on July 16, 1945, as they witness the world’s first nuclear explosion, forever changing the course of history. Starring Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt, and Robert Downey, Jr. Written and Directed by Christopher Nolan.
Next up is Barbie. This movie can be purchased on Digital/BluRay or streamed on HBO/Max. Barbie is all about Barbie and Ken having the time of their lives in the colorful and seemingly perfect world of Barbie Land. When they get a chance to go to the real world, they soon discover the joys and perils of living among humans. Barbie meets Gloria and they are both forever changed. This stars Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, and America Ferrara and is written and directed by Greta Gerwig.
Maestro is available to stream on Netflix. This is a towering and fearless love story chronicling the lifelong relationship between Leonard Bernstein and Felicia Montealegre Cohn Bernstein. A love letter to life and art, Maestro at its core is an emotionally epic portrayal of family and love. This stars Carey Mulligan and Bradley Cooper, who also directed the movie.
Killers of The Flower Moon is available to stream on Apple Tv+ or for rent on Amazon Prime Video, etc. This is Martin Scorsese’s film Based on a true story, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro and newcomer Lily Gladstone, KILLERS OF THE FLOWER MOON is an epic western crime saga set in 1920s Oklahoma. Real love crosses paths with unspeakable betrayal as Mollie Burkhart, a member of the Osage Nation, fights to survive and bring to light the spree of greed-fueled murders committed against the Osage community after oil was discovered on their land.
The Holdovers is streaming on Peacock or wherever you rent movies. This is a Christmas story of three lonely, shipwrecked people at a New England boarding school over a very snowy holiday break in 1970.
The comedy stars Giamatti as Paul Hunham, an odiferous, optically-challenged adjunct professor of ancient history who is universally disliked by students and faculty; Da’Vine Joy Randolph as Mary Lamb, the head cook of the school whose only child Curtis was killed in Vietnam, and Dominic Sessa, in his film debut, as Angus Tully, a student at the school – a smart, damaged, troublemaker but a good kid underneath who’s just trying to make his way. Left to their own devices in the empty school, there are adventures, a little calamity, and finally, a semblance of family.
American Fiction is still in most movie theaters. It is not available at home at this time. AMERICAN FICTION is Cord Jefferson’s hilarious directorial debut, which confronts our culture’s obsession with reducing people to outrageous stereotypes. Jeffrey Wright stars as Monk, a frustrated novelist who’s fed up with the establishment profiting from “Black” entertainment that relies on tired and offensive tropes. To prove his point, Monk uses a pen name to write an outlandish “Black” book of his own, a book that propels him to the heart of hypocrisy and the madness he claims to disdain.
Poor Things is still available in movie theaters nationwide and not streaming at home yet. From filmmaker Yorgos Lanthimos and producer Emma Stone comes the incredible tale and fantastical evolution of Bella Baxter (Stone), a young woman brought back to life by the brilliant and unorthodox scientist Dr. Godwin Baxter (Willem Dafoe). Under Baxter’s protection, Bella is eager to learn. Hungry for the worldliness she is lacking, Bella runs off with Duncan Wedderburn (Mark Ruffalo), a slick and debauched lawyer, on a whirlwind adventure across the continents. Free from the prejudices of her times, Bella grows steadfast in her purpose to stand for equality and liberation.
The Zone of Interest is still available in movie theaters. This movie stars Sandra Hüller
Christian Friedel. The commandant of Auschwitz, Rudolf Höss, and his wife Hedwig, strive to build a dream life for their family in a house and garden next to the camp.
Anatomy Of A Fall is available to rent on most streaming platforms such as Apple, Amazon, etc. This is the second movie nominated starring Sandra Hüller. When her husband Samuel is mysteriously found dead in the snow below their secluded chalet, Sandra becomes the main suspect when the police begin to question whether he fell or was pushed. The trial soon becomes not just an investigation, but a gripping psychological journey into the depths of Sandra and Samuel’s complicated marriage. With conflicting evidence and inconsistent testimony, words are wielded like weapons and shocking truths come to light in this thrilling Palme d’Or winner.
Finally, Past Lives is available for free on Viki for rent on other platforms or to purchase on Digital. Nora and Hae Sung, two deeply connected childhood friends, are wrest apart after Nora’s family emigrated from South Korea. Two decades later, they are reunited in New York for one fateful week as they confront notions of destiny, love, and the choices that make a life, in this heartrending modern romance. This stars Greta Lee, Teo Yoo, and John Magaro.
