Curtain Closing on The Country Bear Jamboree Today at the Magic Kingdom. 1/26/2024 is the end of an era here at Walt Disney World, as we lose an opening day attraction to the annals of time. This is not just a refurbishment this time, it is a complete change of music and musical styling.
Although the Original version of the show was shortened in 2012 by 5 minutes, it was still the same characters and mostly the exact same show, minus a song or 2 and we lost some of the jokes.
Who is staying and who is going to remain when the curtain rises on the newly refurbished The Country Bear Jamboree. Liverlips is losing his racially undertoned nickname and will use his whole name of Romeo McGrowl. But will we lose some of the other cringe-worthy songs like The Sun Bonnet Trio’s “All the Guys that Turn Me On Turn Me Down” and will the trio be returning?

Country Bear Musical Jamboree
Get ready to knee slap and toe-tap to a little country twang this summer!
If you’ve been too busy trottin’ through the Wild West and have missed the news, the Country Bears are getting ready to put on a new show that pays homage to the Opry-style shows of Nashville. While the Country Bear Musical Jamboree will include easter eggs from the beginning to the end including a familiar tune fans may remember, the bears will sing new, reinterpreted Disney tunes in different genres of country music – like bluegrass, pop-country, Americana, rockabilly, and other styles. Here’s a look at one of the clips we shared at Destination D23.
My biggest question is what will happen to my favorite characters, who aren’t even Bears, Buff, Max, and Melvin. The bison, white-tailed buck, and the bull-moose heads that hang on the wall offering commentary and singing along.
I do not know why they are my favorite, but to each their own I say.
