Typhoon Lagoon Officially Opened for the 2024 Season at Disney World. The weather here in central Florida is slightly overcast with temps in the mid-80s, which makes it the perfect day for Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon to reopen for the 2024 season.
A lot has been happening at Disney World’s water parks recently, with news of a free ticket for the 2025 vacation packages. A season pass is available for $79.00 which is good until May 24th. This is a great option if you visit a water park more than once, considering a base ticket is $74.00 a day.
Annual Passholders only pay $49.00 a ticket if they have not added Water Parks and More to their Disney Annual Pass. Okay, enough of the offers, let us get into the fun! Furthermore, Disney is bringing back H2O Glow After Hours parties back to Typhoon Lagoon for 2024.
Our friends are at the park now getting some sun and soaking in. We got some great images from Typhoon Lagoon Surf Pool where you can wade into the warm water where gentle waves lap the white sandy beach. Swim out and listen for the thunderous “sonic boom” and the squeals of delighted swimmers as little ripples become big kahunas. Keep watch and feel the excitement build as a cresting wave heads your way—and get ready to paddle!
Enjoy an epic body surf ride as you’re propelled to shore. With a continuous set of swells, you’re sure to catch a gnarly wave! But be careful, because I have personally left behind part of my knee every time I thought I could ride the big wave. But, I am also uncoordinated so use at your own risk, lol.

Two of our favorites are the Crush n’ Gusher 2-person water slide, and we enjoy going with friends down the 4-person Miss Adventure Falls. Of course, food is always a necessity and we are hearing some new snacks and treats are available at Leaning Palms and Happy Landings Ice Cream.
Over at Typhoon Tilly’s, they have a new Dole Whip Bathtub Sundae with Matcha Tea soft Serve. – Dole Whip pineapple, Dole Whip strawberry, and Green Matcha soft serve topped with boba balls.

Below is Miss Tilly, the water park icon was once a shrimping vessel and was swept high atop the volcanic Mount Mayday and now overlooks the transformed lagoon. With a perfectly fit name, Mount Mayday “erupts” roughly every half hour generating large waves into the surf pool, with Miss Tilly’s whistle warning Guests when the next set of waves is coming.
