Disneyland Shuts Down ‘Rise of the Resistance’ for Hours due to Human Remains. On March 17th, 2024, people went onto social media platforms Reddit and Twitter to share images and discuss a recent closure of the popular Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge ride ‘Rise of the Resistance’.

We will NOT be sharing the photo, nor the X post which shares the image, we can share the reddit thread because the image has been removed.

Apparently a guest had followed through with the last wishes of a loved one and scattered their remains on the beloved attraction. Unfortunately, that did not go very well for the guest, or the recently deceased! Considering they will now have a final resting place in a HEPA filter thrown away in a trash dump somewhere. At least they were cremated first!

“Someone spread some ashes on Rise of the Resistance at Disneyland last night according to Reddit,” @dizchris posted. “Don’t do this, folks.” In the image you can see one of the trackless vehicles had gone through a dusty substance and dragged it around the attraction. Wheel marks of ashes and tracks were left behind (Ah, double entendre for the win!)

Mom, this ride looks so real! The Stormtroopers have learned how to shot straight!

Yes, I am making light of the situation, but that doesn’t take away from the seriousness of people spreading ashes of a dead person around a place where 10’s of thousands of people visit daily. I mean, I love me some Disney, but this seems a little over the top. if, I die, or when I die, I will be dead. I am not coming back as a Cast Member!

The issue is simple, it is considered a biohazard clean up and special care must be taken to clean the area up. No one wants to breathe in Grandpa!

This is absolutely NOT the first time we have heard about these types of situations. Some of the favorite spots to leave recently departed guests is on Disney’s Haunted Mansion, in flower pots around the Magic Kingdom, Pirates of the Caribbean, and many different water features located at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World.

I am sure people can find a better spot to dispose of the remains of loved ones. Disney Parks are not the answer. Unless, Disney figures out a way of freezing heads…but that is a whole other story!
