Season 4 of Netflix Hit ‘Sweet Magnolias’ Wraps Filming With A Message From Star JoAnna Garcia Swisher.
JoAnna Garcia Swisher took to Instagram and gave an update to the status of the Netflix show, ‘Sweet Magnolias.’ “That’s a wrap on Season 4! I cannot wait for you all to see what we have been up to in Serenity. It’s been a magical season…for reasons I cannot wait to share ☺️. I always get a little emo when we wrap. It’s bittersweet. There is a huge sense of accomplishment for all the hard work, crazy hours, and time spent bringing this story to life. There is also an overwhelming sense of gratitude. The majority of our crew has been with us since the beginning. We have lived, loved, and laughed through a lot of life together. Even the newest members of our family have felt like we have known each other forever and they were that missing piece to making things just right. This was BY FAR my favorite season…not just for the OMG moments (there are many of them!), but because it was a joy to make. And, in many ways, it feels like we are just getting started. There are a million photos I can’t wait to share when Season 4 streams, but until then I will leave ya with one of me and two of my favorite humans. The three of us are just one piece of a world (on the screen and off) that make Serenity and @sweetmagnoliasnetflix what it is and we love getting to share it all with you!”

Sweet Magnolias is Netflix’s drama about lifelong South Carolina best friends Maddie, Helen, and Dana Sue juggling romantic relationships, family and careers — the positives definitely outweigh the negatives. The three live in the small tight-knit town of Serenity, South Carolina. They are life long friends who are called the “Sweet Magnolias.”
From Netflix Tudum: Maddie is a recently divorced mom of three and played by JoAnna Garcia Swisher. Helen is a career-minded lawyer played by Heather Headley. Rounding out the trio is super chef Dana Sue, played by Brooke Elliott. Maddie is re-entering the workforce following her separation from high school sweetheart Bill (Chris Klein). Bill’s mistress, Noreen (Jamie Lynn Spears), is pregnant. The besties, bolstered by each other’s support, team up to open a spa, which Maddie manages as Helen continues to practice law and Dana Sue runs her restaurant, Sullivan’s.
Maddie moves on with her older son’s ex-MLB player baseball coach, Cal (Justin Bruening). Dana Sue is trying to officially divorce her estranged husband, Ronnie (Brandon Quinn), while reconnecting with old fling and silent business partner, Micah (Marland Burke) — and growing close with hot farmer Jeremy (Chase Anderson). Helen wants children, so she decides to finally call it quits with her longtime on-and-off boyfriend Ryan (Michael Shenefelt) and grows close with Dana Sue’s sous chef, Erik (Dion Johnstone). By the end of the season, Noreen and Bill break up.
The series is based on the romance novels by Sherryl Woods. The show is very big on women supporting each other. JoAnna Garcia Swisher once told PEOPLE, “They may not always agree, but they’re each other’s strongest advocates. It’s a beautiful testament to friendship.” Women supporting women is very important to me.
I am a HUGE fan of this series and I am looking forward to watching Season 4. Season 3 was full of drama and tears and love. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for the Sweet Magnolias, their families, and friends. We will have more about the show as it becomes available.
